Why we're painting Phoenix purple this October

Posted

OPINION — The city of Phoenix encourages everyone to join us during October in raising awareness and supporting victims of domestic violence in the 14th annual Paint Phoenix Purple Campaign.

Domestic violence is among the most widespread and dangerous health and safety challenges in our community. Paint Phoenix Purple is a local campaign brought to you by a collaboration of more than 50 community, private and public organizations.

The city of Phoenix remains steadfast in its commitment to raising awareness and supporting survivors of domestic violence. The Phoenix Police Department, together with the Victim Services Division within the city’s Family Advocacy Center, provides direct assistance to survivors.

Available services include emergency support, orders of protection, medical examinations and documentation, child protective services, victim advocacy and crisis counseling.

Phoenix will provide resources throughout the month and will host several events. For more information or how you can get involved, please visit PaintPhoenixPurple.org.
