Why we love living in Sun City West

OPINION — My name is Roberto. My wife and I absolutely enjoy living here in Sun City West. We enjoy everything about our home, our wonderful neighbors, plus all the activities offered in our new neighborhood.

 I enjoy walking every day, even in the heat. During the first two weeks after moving in, one year ago, I planned my walking route. I decided to stop and check out numerous facilities, clubs, businesses and two recreation centers along my route.

I felt great when everyone in these places was friendly and said “welcome.” Everyone except one, where a man only asked who I was looking for or if I was looking for the bathroom. I walked out!

 Within the first two months, we joined tours of the four recreation centers and they were wonderful and informative. Every club leader welcomed us and invited us to come back.

This first year of living here has been marvelous because of the people who have made us feel welcome. I wish I could mention and thank some of these people who have helped make this year extra special, but I will do it in person.
