OPINION — Fountain Hills voters face a critical choice, and this election must be taken seriously. This is not about Democrats or Republicans. It is about protecting our homes, our health, and our property values from reckless small cell installations.
We are talking about wireless infrastructure placed as close as 300 to 500 feet from homes — that is dangerously close.
If you want cell towers right next to your house, then Brenda, Jeff, and Susan are the right candidates for you. Brenda has voted against ordinances that would keep cell installations at a safer distance. She supports moving forward even when residents object.
But if you want a more conservative, protective approach keeping installations a safe distance from our homes then you must vote differently.
The risks are abundant and clear. Health and exposure concerns: Chronic proximity may increase long-term exposure to wireless radiation for families, children, and pets.
Property value damage: Many buyers hesitate to purchase homes near cell infrastructure, which can lower resale value and make selling difficult.
Insurance and liability gaps: Homeowners may be forced to pay for repairs while tech companies and insurers deny responsibility.
Lost local control: Once approved, these installations become permanent, and future community protection becomes nearly impossible.
Some candidates have already shown they are unwilling to listen to residents. They push ahead regardless of public input. That is not leadership. That is disregard. Fountain Hills deserves officials who protect us. Choose leaders who will keep cell installations far from our homes and defend our community's future.
