OPINION — I volunteer at the Vista Center for the Arts and sent a letter of concern to Dysart Unified School District in April regarding unfavorable walking conditions at Vista Center for the Arts.
Seniors, who make up the majority of center patrons, found it very difficult to get over the curb at the edge of the entrance from the parking lot.
I want to commend district staff, who so promptly corrected this safety issue!
At the Arizona Winds concert on May 31, I was very pleased as I watched our senior citizens move independently by walking with canes, walkers and wheelchairs over the new concrete and rubber incline that was professionally installed!
What a positive difference this made in our entertainment community in Surprise.
