Urging voters to vote out MAGA Trump loyalists

Sun City West reader: Voting is greatest privilege, responsibility; exercise it

OPINION — To vote is the greatest privilege and responsibility that goes with living in a democracy.

I am perplexed by the fact that many Americans will sit on their hands in the face of the greatest threat to our democracy: President Trump’s willingness to break rules to hold power.

Your vote is your voice to elect representation that will work on your behalf. Consider the stagnation in the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate. Mike Johnson and John Thume are Trump/MAGA loyalists who have discouraged working across the aisle and have chosen to stalemate both bodies in order to allow Trump to govern outside constitutional law.

Working Americans clock in approximately 260 working days in a year. The U.S. House of Representatives worked in session 169 days in 2025 and 128 days thus far in 2026. The U.S. Senate worked in session 202 days in 2025 and 146 thus far in 2026.

Vote all the way down your ballot against candidates who are election deniers/disruptors and rubber stamps for the corrupt Trump administration. Vote to put our elected officials to work for the causes important to you. Stand up for the privilege of democracy in this country.
