Unhappy with proposed APS, EPCOR rate hikes

OPINION — It does not matter in which state you reside, if you have a majority Republican corporation commission, I believe the corporations are going to win every rate hike.

I don’t believe Republicans have ever met a corporation they did not love. Mitt Romney, former Republican presidential candidate, said in 2011: “corporations are people, my friend.”

I saw this in Kansas, and again here in Arizona with the EPCOR consolidation and rate hike for sewer. I recently received a card from EPCOR stating they are going for a rate hike for water. After all, it worked perfectly on the sewer hike.

In my opinion, any raise the Arizona Corporation Commission grants APS above 4.2%, the current inflation rate, is obscene and undeserved. Raising costs for home solar owners is wrong. APS is getting power cheaper than they can make it.

Please vote in the next election, and remember if you vote the Republican ticket in July, you do not have to do so in November. The money you save will be your own.
