The Scottsdale Unified bond provides vital infrastructure

Posted

OPINION — We proudly support the 2025 Scottsdale Unified School District bond plan because it directly funds essential infrastructure, such as modernizing schools, technology servers, plumbing and security needs across all our district learning communities. This $375 million investment is a vital step in maintaining safe, thriving and highly capable environments our students deserve.

Why does the bond matter?

Vital infrastructure: Unlike previous bond efforts that largely focused on constructing new buildings, this five-year capital improvement bond targets hidden, but crucial, needs. It ensures our children learn in schools equipped with reliable technology, secure networks and updated plumbing.

Fiscal responsibility: Despite this necessary investment, SUSD continues to maintain the lowest combined tax rate among its peer districts.

Community oversight: Every dollar spent is monitored by the SUSD Bond and Override Oversight Committee to guarantee funds are used efficiently, transparently and exactly as voters intended.

Building a sustainable future: By upgrading and shrinking the district’s aging physical footprint, SUSD is concentrating resources directly on thriving schools and high-quality educational programs.

The plan is a smart, measured investment in our local economy, property values and the future success of Scottsdale’s children. Invest in America by supporting the future of our students, today.
