Sun City taxpayer wants to see real data on firefighter pay

OPINION — Regarding Zev Black’s article about Sun City Fire & Medical firefighters’ pay: Don’t treat us like we’re stupid. Include what firefighters actually make, the range for each position and include the highest-paid district for comparison.

Showing only percentages is ludicrous. This is the game governmental agencies play. They always compare raw dollars to another district, city or state, without including any other factors.

Provide the actual numbers so those of us (taxpayers) paying the bill have the information required to support, or not support, more spending.

The information should include salary and benefits separately, and benefits should by separated by type of benefit to be sure things like “car allowance” aren’t provided.
