Gilbert pulls Regional Park revote from council agenda, plans November discussion

Mayor Anderson is the problem. He only knows how to spend. Parks are 100% expense with maintenance and more water. No revenue or taxable income to offset. Anderson is a joke. — Alan T.

How about balancing the budget before we keep spending money. Absolutely ridiculous all the spending. — Micky E.

Micky, Gilbert has a balanced budget. Why are you saying they don’t? — Matt L.

Gilbert Public Schools seeks new science curriculum for grades 7-8

Why do they have low enrollment. Seems they are only seeking ways to milk homeowners. I have no kids but still have to pay on my property taxes. — Dave B.

Gilbert school board questions Prop 320's fairness, charter school exemption

Not fair at all if they are receiving the same public tax dollars as public schools. Same rules should apply! — Kaysi G.

I'm voting NO on Proposition 320! It will likely have the opposite effect on student achievement from what its proponents claim. To meet the arbitrary 60% spending threshold, school districts may have to divert funds from essential services such as instructional coaches, educational software, and instructional technology maintenance — all of which support student learning. It makes little sense to penalize public schools that may not realistically be able to meet this rigid spending requirement.

Even more troubling, the proposal would withhold funds from struggling public schools and redirect them to charter schools, which are not held to the same 60% standard. I support school choice, but this proposal appears designed to prop up charter schools at the expense of public schools and the students they serve. NO on Proposition 320. — Carol C.

Gilbert Town Council tightens code of conduct to protect staff from intimidation

Hmm. So the people who are supposed to be able to represent citizens just had their hands tied? I don't condone mistreatment or misconduct, but the staff is supposed to answer to the council and therefore the citizens. This issue needs more attention and scrutiny. — Mike W.

Maybe it will cut down on the money that the town has had to use on fighting FALSE allegations. — Melodie C.F.

Well maybe if those outgoing council members practiced what they preach. I treat them the way they treat their constituents. And if ANYONE would like proof of it, I have plenty of it. — Beth L.

That's disturbing this is even an issue. I was with a county council back east and never dealt with anything so disgraceful. — Lin M.
