Senior thanks Rep. Hamadeh for tax relief

Sun City West resident: Extra cushion from One Big Beautiful Bill appreciated

OPINION — After working and paying taxes for many years, seniors deserve a break on taxation of their retirement financial resources. Many live on fixed incomes that are affected by rising costs. Tax relief can provide the extra cushion to make the “golden years” a little more stress-free.

Since some financial resources supporting seniors have already been taxed, such as Social Security, it is not appropriate to tax senior income a second time. The federal government doesn’t need to treat the senior population like a piggy bank.

I wish to commend our Congressional District 8 Rep. Abe Hamadeh for his work to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill that reduced the tax on Social Security and increased the federal tax senior deduction.

Congressman Hamadeh campaigned on reducing the tax burden for seniors, and he delivered. He has also delivered on other campaign promises, especially related to veteran issues

We can be thankful for his energetic work representing us in the West Valley and providing a level of leadership that I believe is exceptional. We are blessed to have elected a truly gifted leader who is young, brilliant and honorable as our representative.

I am so pleased to live in Abe Hamadeh’s congressional district!
