OPINION — U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Rodney Glassman has spent 17 years serving our nation, prosecuting criminals, leading military investigations and managing elite legal teams as a battle-tested judge advocate.
Warren Petersen, by contrast, has spent 14 years as a politician shilling for corporate interests and pushing personal agendas.
The Attorney General’s Office is Arizona’s largest public law firm, not a place for on-the-job training. Yet Petersen has only been a licensed attorney since December 2023. He has no professional courtroom experience and has never managed a law office.
Worse than his paper-thin resume is Petersen’s pattern of self-serving betrayal. When Scottsdale voters launched a successful referendum to block a massive corporate housing project, Petersen steamrolled Arizona’s constituents’ constitutional rights, bringing SB 1543 to the floor and handing a victory to a corporate giant.
Further, according to state Sen. Wendy Rogers, Petersen was behind SB 1049 which would radically change alimony laws impacting countless families in Arizona. Petersen has denied that his personal life motivated the bill. But it’s easy to conclude that Petersen is using his immense legislative power to rewrite family law based on personal grievances with judicial discretion.
Petersen has launched a smear campaign against Glassman, calling him a “joke” all while he invokes President Trump for cheap political clout. The irony is glaring. Petersen is exactly the type of career politician that needs to be drained from the swamp.
Rodney’s military evaluations describe him advising commanders, handling justice matters, managing investigations, supervising attorneys, leading legal offices and prosecuting crimes. Glassman is a proven legal heavyweight with a record of service and sacrifice.
Do we want a seasoned military prosecutor protecting Arizona families, or a compromised legal novice using the office for corporate favors and personal grievances? The choice is clear. My vote is for Rodney Glassman.
