Rep. Hamadeh supports the SAVE America Act; I don’t support him

Surprise reader: One Big Beautiful Bill didn’t help me, either

OPINION — This is in response to the writer enthralled with the One Big Beautiful Bill. I didn’t get a penny off my taxes; I checked with my accountant. And, it is temporary, as the reduction ends in two years.

One of my problems with Abe Hamadeh is that he supports H.R.22, the SAVE America Act, regarding voting. This bill would, according to the League of Women Voters, disenfranchise perhaps 69 million Americans, mostly married women.

It would require proof of citizenship, delivered in person, to election officials, like my $165 passport.

My birth certificate (probably written in hieroglyphics) doesn’t show my married name. It’s already illegal to commit voter fraud in all states. This is a waste of tax dollars!

Rep. Abe Hamadeh is running for reelection in Congressional District 8, which includes parts of Glendale, Peoria, north Phoenix, Sun City, Sun City West and Surprise. Please submit comments at yourvalley.net/letters or email them to AzOpinions@iniusa.org. We are committed to publishing a wide variety of reader opinions, as long as they meet our Civility Guidelines.
