Reader urges vote for change Nov. 3

Sun City West resident unhappy with Iran war, tariffs, rising utility rates and gas prices

OPINION — I have to admit I have failed to do my research and am suffering the consequences. It’s time to stop voting along party lines without really knowing what candidates stand for.

I’ve noticed that both APS and now EPCOR are trying to raise the cost of electricity and water for us consumers. The proposed rate must be approved by the Arizona Corporation Commission whose members are voted on by us.

If commissioners will not fight for us to receive reasonable and affordable rates, they should be replaced.

The same with our statewide and county leaders who seem to vote without even caring how their votes affect the people they represent.

I miss Sen. John McCain. With an unpopular Iran war, rising gas prices  and tariffs raising the price of everything for us consumers, something has gone terribly wrong.

It’s time for change, and the power is in our votes. It’s time for the biggest voter turnout ever. Vote for change Nov. 3!
