Reader agrees with ASU prof’s take on effluent water

OPINION — I completely agree with ASU Professor Rhett Larson on reusing effluent water. Aren’t we already?

My understanding is, currently, treated effluent water is pumped back into the ground, then we pump it back out to use anyway.

Can we skip a step to save money? It’s the same water! Desalination is too expensive and harmful.
