RCSC should proportion fees fairly

Sun City reader believes single owners currently shoulder burden

Posted

OPINION — I completely agree with LM Anderson on the Recreation Centers of Sun City’s ever-rising annual fees. In my opinion, this is not a burden on two-member households, where they have two incomes.

But the burden has been increasing every year for singles who are retired and have no way of increasing income. Many of us accepted the fees when we moved here, even knowing we wouldn’t use the facilities.

But it has gone up — and not just a few dollars.

It’s time to proportion this fairly. Make every resident of Sun City pay an equal fee. No more advantage for two-person households. They are not the ones needing a break. If RCSC can’t figure out how to do this — then someone else needs to handle the budget.
