The Arizona Supreme Court sided unanimously July 7 with Maricopa County Recorder Justin Heap in his fight with the county Board of Supervisors over election duties, upholding a lower court’s ruling that Supervisors acted illegally and exceeded their “statutory authority by seizing the Recorder’s personnel, systems and equipment and refusing to return them” to Heap, who has been associated with election deniers.
