Many hikers unprepared for desert heat, terrain

OPINION — In response to your Question of the Week: Yes, there should be a “stupid hiker law.”

I watch them on TV not prepared for hiking! No water, or not enough, wearing improper footwear, such as sandals.

Many don’t pay attention to signage and continue to hike when trails are closed or they go off trails.
