Hamadeh protesters not crazy, nor communist

OPINION — Re: your article, Hamadeh labels protesters ‘communists’ at Sun City West GOP meeting. First, there were well over 50 protesters there, not sure why your count was so wrong. Second, why did Hamadeh feel the need to label the protesters as crazy and communist?

He’s not spoken to us, he doesn’t know us, he has no idea why we protest, except that he does know we do not support his views. He has had plenty of opportunities to meet with us, through town halls that have been requested, or by just coming out to see what a good number of people think about his policies.

If he truly was our representative, he should talk to all of the people in his district, not just his supporters. Let’s have less name calling and more direct communication.

As for the communist label, it appears he only started using that after his leader started calling his opposition that. It would be appreciated if our representative was able to think for himself, and not just reiterate the words of another

 I, and I’m sure I speak for many of the protesters, are very much in favor of democracy. We just don’t want autocracy, with one person acting as a dictator, ruling by executive order. We appreciate the three branches of government, acting to keep each other in line.

Right now, we have a uniform party who supports one man, one idea, with no regard for our Constitution, our laws and the will of the people. This must change. Vote for sanity in November.
