Grateful that Hamadeh supports veterans

Sun City West reader thanks congressman for continued service

OPINION — Our freedom depends on the men and women who serve in uniform. Less than 1% of our population serve. Without them, we would not have a free country.

That’s why I’m grateful for Congressman Abe Hamadeh’s work on their behalf. As a veteran and member of the house Veterans’ Affairs and Armed Forces committees, Abe has authored or sponsored legislation to expand education and job training opportunities for veterans, improve Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare access and staffing, protect benefits and retirement pay, update combat pay and advanced PTSD research.

He has also pushed for a stronger Community Care Program, home loan programs and suicide prevention efforts.

These are meaningful tributes to our heroes. I thank Congressman Abe Hamadeh for his service and for continuing to serve his fellow veterans in Congress.

Rep. Abe Hamadeh represents Congressional District 8, which includes parts of Glendale, Peoria, north Phoenix, Sun City, Sun City West and Surprise. Please submit comments at yourvalley.net/letters or email them to AzOpinions@iniusa.org. We are committed to publishing a wide variety of reader opinions, as long as they meet our Civility Guidelines.
