OPINION — Sherri James’ recent letter piles on disrespect at most voters in Fountain Hills. A repeated mantra of meaningless words like “respect,” “decency” and “civility” the letter shows no evidence of embracing.
How is this letter demonstrating respectfulness, common decency or civility when it portrays most of the Fountain Hills voters as desiring contemptuous partisan politics or cronyism? Talk about unrelenting attacks “on candidates,” as the letter claims, without specific evidence, while using these very words to disparage the majority in Fountain Hills.
The town chose not to transition to a new mayor by a landslide. Kalivianakis was unable to garner more votes than DeGenarro, the Democrat, or Tate and Mirick, registered as no party declared. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know where they all align. This is particularly evidenced by campaign materials where it stated a donation will be shared equally.
You all are fighting an uphill, losing battle when the Flourish PAC in its “Not the time for a Postmortem” post states more of the same posturing that got the PAC nowhere. Like calling a council elect “befuddled.” Really?
Mirick – supported by Flourish – in a since deleted Facebook post, says she is "disappointed" by most voters in Fountain Hills. No thank you – glad the voters saw your reality, too.
The minority need to realize the only people disrupting the business of this town is Flourish. Reclaim Our Town outwitted and outplayed their every move, as evidenced by the objective results at the polls. Instead of a postmortem on the voters of Fountain Hills, try one on Flourish and the playbook used for the last two years. Their message should be “You’re fired.” It’s business, not personal.
