Former Glendale mayor supports Lisa Baker for council

OPINION — The Barrel District has benefited from excellent representation for 35 years. Lisa Baker is the one candidate who will next provide the same honest, responsive, friendly, intelligent and caring public service you enjoyed from Tom Eggleston, Yvonne Knaack and Bart Turner.  

At the candidate forum, I listened to Lisa answer questions about very serious issues. Lisa was deliberate, thoughtful, nonpartisan and understandable. She gave full explanations of her positions on the issues, while some others spoke worn-out platitudes. 

Lisa’s volunteer work for all of Glendale simply cannot be ignored. For almost 10 years, Lisa has made time to serve on city commissions and committees, learning about our needs for housing, senior support, youth programs, parks revitalization, financial stability and historic preservation and forwarding recommendations for improvements to the City Council.

In addition, the Glendale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors asked Lisa to step in as their president when that vacancy came unexpectedly. Lisa has been personally chosen for these roles because she is respected as an ethical, collaborative individual who will do what is right without favoritism.

Lisa has done all this and more while being a full-time wife, mother and successful Realtor.

Many of you lived in the Barrel District during the 20 years you gave me the privilege and honor of serving you as mayor of Glendale. I still live in Glendale and I stay informed and active in our community life.

I care deeply about our city’s future and sincerely believe our historic past will be preserved and our quality of life will be prioritized with Lisa Baker serving as Barrel District councilmember. Please vote for Lisa Baker for Barrel District councilmember!
