Civility never left Fountain Hills until now

Posted

OPINION — A certain peace fell over Fountain Hills when we elected Gerry Friedel for mayor. Many of us felt protected from outside influences and the negativity we had from the previous mayor and some council members.

Not until this campaign did we have any issues with civility, with the exception of the holiday debacle instigated by the Democratic Club. We now have one side claiming the need to restore civility. That, in fact, is the platform they are running on.

I never realized civility left (and I’m not living under a rock). Until this particular campaign, we seemed to be doing quite well. Yes, we have some unhappy people here but to allow them to change the narrative of what Fountain Hills is – is wrong. I will continue to love living in our town and will be even happier as Mayor Gerry continues to lead our town with a steady hand, strong fiscal responsibility and kindness.

I will vote for Gerry again and so are many of my friends.
