Candidates talk green energy, rate increases

Posted

OPINION — Recently, I had an opportunity to participate in a forum for ACC candidates sponsored by two faith-based Phoenix organizations. All of the candidates were invited, but only Clara Pratte and Jonathon Hill participated.

The candidates were presented with multiple questions centering on the high cost of utilities, the future of our water sources, discussed the importance of green initiatives, and listened attentively as they heard people’s stories about how the high cost of utilities is having a negative impact on their life.

I was very impressed with Ms. Pratte and Dr. Hill’s responses to the questions. The ACC should be actively encouraging the use of green energy and tighter control over rate increases, and I encourage anyone that values those initiatives to vote for them.
